Aside from being an overall nice guy and life long jock, JP knows his stuff when it comes to exercise and fitness. JP attended Linfield College and earned his BA in Exercise Science in 2000. While attending Linfield he had the privilege of playing and coaching football as a Wildcat. To make a few extra bucks while in college JP worked as a personal trainer at Gold’s Gym where he was able to use his degree. He also has gained experience in defensive tactics attained by working as a police officer for the McMinnville Police Department. His most recent job being a very sedentary desk job rendered his inner athlete dormant. He gained 60 lbs in 3 years and was so out of shape at one point, a simple flight of stairs winded him. Just bending over to tie his shoe was a workout for him. And then he found CrossFit. He began doing CrossFit 4 days/week and saw immediate results. It took him only 6 months to lose 40 lbs and realize that life had rendered his inner athlete dormant. At 33 years old JP made a full recovery to being a healthy active athlete. This is now his passion… to help others release their dormant athlete with-in.
Outside of the gym you will find JP cooking gourmet meals, watching Hannah Montana with his 3 girls, talking weight training with his 17 year old son, going to Church on the Hill, and hanging out with friends and family.
Cyra has been working in the fitness industry for 13 years, nine at Cindy‘s Gym, a health club for women, before opening MCF. She has been educated in the STOTT Pilates training method and has extensive experience in group exercise. Her most recent passion has been leading consecutive Boot Camps for women and teaching cycling classes. She has birthed 4 children and knows the struggles of pregnancy weight gain, being a mom, and keeping up your fitness at the same time. She loves event training. Her 2010 event schedule included the Shamrock Run 15k, the Race for the Roses Half Marathon, the Blue Lake Women only Triathlon and the crazy fun Warrior Dash.
Outside of the gym Cyra likes to go on long bike rides and short runs. She is a facebook-a-holic, and loves to travel with JP and the kids. Church on the Hill is a big part of her life.
